Senior Project 2022

Emily Gaines

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m Emily Gaines and I’m from Boerne, Texas. Outside of class you can find me browsing local thrifts, listening to my discover weekly, trying out new recipes, or daydreaming. I changed my major to graphic design from nursing after googling “how can I get Jenna Rinks job in 13 Going on 30?” I am excited by the vastness of design and the influence it can create for a person, brand, cause, or otherwise. Through my experiences in the GDES program I’ve found that I am passionate about branding, story telling, and human centered design.

I chose this topic because I wanted to explore analog design solutions. I grew up taking road trips and have been fascinated with the culture of being on the road. It always seemed to me that a road trip was the hallmark of a good friendship. I created the RAMBLIN’ decks to facilitate conversation in the car and put intentionality back into human connection.

Your Title Goes Here

How might we create analog interactions and experiences for people on road trips to facilitate close human connection and memory-making?
