Senior Project 2022
Destiny Layne
✨Hello!✨ I am Destiny Layne and I’m from Spring, TX. Growing up I always knew I wanted to have a creative career. After taking a graphic design and video game class in highschool, it inspired me to pursue my passion. To me, graphic design is a growing industry that is always in demand for new and innovative people. During my time in this program I refined my skills and gained so much real world knowledge. My design work is inspired by my love for photography, fashion, and pop culture. My biggest takeaway from school is the amazing relationships I formed with my peers and professors. I care so much for my friends that I have made here and am forever grateful for them.

My senior project was influenced by receiving voicemails from people in my life. There is a sweet sentiment in archiving memories in an audio medium. I wanted to utilize this feeling of nostalgia and make memories tangible. To further reinforce these ideas, I came up with a variety of prompts to encourage people to be vulnerable and reflect on their life. All voicemails are left anonymously to ensure comfortability in being open. Through radical honesty, I will then be able to share these voicemails on a podcast. By doing this I can further the discussion around each voicemail to help listeners connect not only with themselves but with total strangers.

How might we design a podcast that facilitates vulnerability which allows young adults to connect in a meaningful way?
